It's a classic communication breakdown, where a lot of grief might have been avoided if the characters were just honest with each other. In this case, Heath is aware of the risk he is taking. He seems to have no shortage of friends to remind him of it, but we can also sympathize with his desire to let go of the past and keep Adrien happy.Between the hot scenes and the desire to see what happens when Adrien inevitably finds out the truth, this is quite a page-turner. It's also a completely stand-alone story, which is refreshing in these days when everything is a series. This was a super steamy, omegaverse story with all that juicy goodness A/B/O reads usually contains; heats (obviously), knotting, mpreg, insatiable lust, and some interesting hormonal aspects of alpha and omega biology. Dominant alphas and submissive omegas are HOT.M/M erotica at its best. Just awesome.Granted. The storyline is a bit effed up. But strangely enough, it manages to be both crazy sexy as well as sweet with a very fulfilling HEA. Also, it’s never boring. Apart from the sweaty, hot shenanigans and growing affection, there’s the ever present secrecy of Adrien’s omega father, as well as the slightly more superficial conflict with Heath’s brother and nephew.Considering how short this book is, it’s quite impressive that Moreno still succeeds in writing such a thorough and fleshy story.
